Astrobotic is making headlines with plans to send physical Dogecoin to the moon in December, generating enthusiasm within the Doge community.
Astrobotic, a prominent American Space Research and Robotics firm, is gearing up for a groundbreaking satellite launch that includes physical Dogecoin heading to the moon. This announcement has stirred significant excitement within the meme coin community, drawing attention from market participants.
Scheduled for December 23, the launch, featuring Dogecoin, is set to occur through DHL Moonbox via ULA’s Vulcan Centaur Rocket, as officially communicated by Dogecoin’s X account on Twitter.
Astrobotic’s Lunar Mission: Dogecoin’s Journey to the Moon
Astrobotic, funded by the Dogecoin community in 2015, reciprocated by sending them a collection of “Physical Dogecoins.” This reciprocal gesture manifested in Astrobotic’s 2021 moon mission, where Dogecoin was part of the payload, safely landing on the lunar surface.
The attention-grabbing claim prompted Astrobotic to acknowledge the Dogecoin community’s involvement. In 2021, the Space Technology firm shared a post detailing the discovery of Dogecoins sent in 2015 during the integration of MoonBoxes with the Peregrine lunar lander. Tagging SpaceX founder Elon Musk, Astrobotic playfully alluded, “Dogecoin actually going to the moon.”
This lunar Dogecoin endeavor aligns with Elon Musk’s vision, driven by his fascination with DOGE meme coins. However, the DOGE-1 mission, initiated in 2021 and managed by SpaceX as the launch provider for Intuitive Machines, has faced repeated delays in the Nova-C mission, consequently impacting the progress of the DOGE-1 mission.
Dogecoin Fans Thrilled About Going to the Moon!
As news spread that physical Dogecoin is set to journey to the moon in December 2023, the Doge Army swiftly flocked to the X platform to express their joy. The Dogecoin community, known for its collaborative spirit, embraced the announcement with enthusiasm, as evidenced by numerous reposts showcasing the positive sentiment within the crypto community.
However, amidst the jubilation, some raised concerns about the lack of an official announcement from Astrobotic. Despite the community’s exuberance, there’s yet to be a definitive confirmation from the Space technology firm.
At the time of writing, Dogecoin’s price stood at $0.078778, marking a notable surge of over 6% in the last 24 hours. The volume also experienced a significant uptick, rising by 29.17% to $850.42 million as the news circulated throughout the market.
