Kamala Harris Ends Campaign With $20 Million in Debt


Vice President Kamala Harris ended her 2024 presidential campaign with $20 million in debt, says Christopher Cadelago, the California Bureau Chief for Politico, according to two sources familiar with the matter. The Harris campaign raised over $1.09 billion in donations but had only $118 million left in October last month. Spending went out of control with high-profile events, leading to a debt of $20 million before the election.

“Kamala Harris’s campaign ended with at least $20 million in debt, per two sources familiar. Harris raised over $1 billion and had $118 million in the bank as of Oct. 16,” tweeted Politico’s Christopher Cadelago.

According to a report from The New York Times, the Harris campaign spent “six figures” flying banners over the NFL games in October. The plan was to reach out to the male voters in swing states who could play a crucial role at the polls. Another report from The Guardian states that Kamala Harris also spent “a reported $450,000 a day” to display ads at the Las Vegas Sphere in Nevada, a swing state.

The Democratic campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon blew a billion dollars in a few months leaving staffers scrambling for money. “Jen [O’Malley Dillon] blew through a billion dollars in a few months,” a campaign staffer told Breitbart News. “Jen blew through a billion dollars in a few months and it was all Jen’s idea to do all the concerts,” said the campaign staffer.

High-profile celebrities like Eminem, Katy Perry, Lizzo, and Bruce Springsteen were invited to energize the younger and first-time voters. All of these proved costly as it added $20 million in debt as the campaign ended for Kamala Harris. The Democratic candidate outspent Trump’s campaign by over $460 million and yet lost the race to the Republican’s.
