Mo Shaikh steps down as CEO of Aptos Labs

Mo Shaikh, co-founder and outgoing CEO of Aptos Labs, has stepped down, marking an important change for the blockchain company he started three years ago with Avery Ching.

Shaikh, active in the blockchain sector since 2016, shared his pride in Aptos’ achievements in a sincere message on X. Aptos has grown into a strong ecosystem with more than a thousand builders and innovators from around the world under his leadership.

The platform uses the Move programming language, created for Facebook’s Diem project, and has raised $400 million in venture capital from major investors like BlackRock, Google, and PayPal.

In his goodbye, Shaikh recognized the important roles of early partners and builders in shaping the Aptos ecosystem, highlighting the connection between Web3 and Web2 that the company supports. He will step back from daily operations but will still be a strategic advisor, dedicated to helping Aptos as a top layer-1 blockchain.

Avery Ching will take over as CEO from Shaikh, who thinks this change will help the company succeed even more. Ching is excited about his new role. He wants to support and help grow Aptos’ builders and community while exploring new ideas in Web3 technology.

Aptos is making a leadership change at an important time, as it seeks to stay ahead in blockchain technology and shape the future of decentralized finance. Aptos is set to keep growing and innovating in the blockchain world with Ching leading the way.
