Do not post your Bitcoin holdings online. Amouranth (Kaitlyn Siragusa) faced a challenging lesson after publicly showing her Bitcoin assets on Twitch. Armed robbers invaded her home, demanding crypto after she admitted owning 211 Bitcoin worth $20 million.

With that much Bitcoin, she may need extra security after the March 2 attack left her and her husband fighting for their lives.

Bitcoin, kidnapping, and a narrow escape

The attack happened late at night when four armed men broke into Amouranth’s home. They beat her, held her at gunpoint, and demanded her crypto private keys. Fortunately, her husband was on speakerphone when it all went down.

The attackers, hoping to access her crypto, took the phone and tried to navigate through her apps. Meanwhile, her husband, watching the events unfold through security cameras, grabbed a gun and tried to figure out where the attackers were.

Amouranth led the robbers around the house, convincing them to look for a cold storage device. When they lost focus during the search, she escaped to her waiting husband, who held a weapon.

At her point of safety on the upper floor, her husband discharged three shots, which managed to injure at least one of the intruders. The robbers abandoned the scene because they became scared when the police got too close.

Who Was Behind It?

Police later arrested four suspects, charging them with aggravated robbery and kidnapping. The suspects included:

  • Dylan Nesho Campbell.
  • Bryan Anthony Salazar Guerrero.
  • Two unnamed teens (ages 16-17).

The attackers targeted Amouranth because of her Bitcoin wealth.

Crypto Holders Are Being Targeted

This isn’t an isolated case. Crypto kidnappings and extortion are becoming more common.
In January, a UK gang kidnapped and tortured a crypto investor for months to steal his funds.

Kidnappers abducted Ledger co-founder David Balland in France and held him for ransom.
With Bitcoin prices rising, criminals are actively hunting for wealthy holders. If you own crypto, keep it private—showing off online could make you a target.

Conclusion

. Scammers can target anyone, even a well-known influencer with security cameras.
