Animoca Brands, a game software and venture capital company, has recently partnered with Ethereum Layer-2 Soneium. Moca Network, Animoca Brands’ main digital identity platform, will create a premier identity layer on this blockchain.

According to the latest reports, the partners will begin with Anime ID, which is a decentralized identifier (DID) and reputation layer. San FranTokyo, a core contributor to the Anime Foundation, has created this layer.

Creating a Seamless Digital Identity for Fans

To support this effort, Moca Network will build its Account, Identity, and Reputation SDK (AIR SDK) into the blockchain. This integration will give its users the facility to easily manage their embedded accounts, unique identities, and credentials in all of Soneium’s decentralized apps (dapps). Anime ID will also be the first DID and reputation layer that will use the AIR SDK and integrate into this same blockchain.

The team also says that this integration will help partners on Soneium easily issue and verify data credentials and will attract more people to anime-related activities.

Yat Siu, co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands, says that the strategic partnership is a big step toward a Web3 future where everything is connected. Users will be able to connect anime, games, and blockchain technologies with their single digital identities. As these technologies integrate, the focus now shifts toward enhancing anime fan experiences using Soneium’s platform.

Enhancing Anime Fan Experiences Through Soneium’s Platform

The partners will work to get anime fans globally to use Soneium and connect them to new anime-themed experiences powered by blockchain. As a result of the partnership, San FranTokyo will run cultural campaigns on the chain that are based on anime.

Meanwhile, Sony Block Solutions Labs (SBSL) created Soneium as an open blockchain, a project that Sony Group Corporation and Startale Group started. Optimism’s Superchain technology powers it.

As the blockchain gains traction, it has already achieved notable financial milestones. According to DeFiLlama, the blockchain has now reached $103.26 million, which is more than $100 million at the time of writing.

In addition, Jun Watanabe, the head of Sony Block Solutions Labs of Soneium, says that anime is one of the biggest entertainment industries. Because of this, it “holds immense potential.”

“By adding Moca Network’s AIR SDK and Anime ID to Soneium and Animoca Brands’ anime-themed cultural campaigns, we hope to bring anime fans from around the world onto the blockchain, where they can work together, make things, and make the world feel better.”

David Taing, the head of San FranTokyo, said that Soneium is one of the first big ecosystem partners of Anime ID. San FranTokyo will work together with the Moca Network chain and its global and industry partners “to connect, onboard, and empower anime fans for new anime-inspired experiences across ecosystems.” Now, it is expected that with all these collaborations, this ecosystem will successfully bring anime experiences to Web3 in a new way.
