The announcement by President Donald Trump regarding the establishment of a “Crypto Currency Strategic Reserve” has triggered significant activity in the market. Following this announcement, the total market value of cryptocurrencies surged by nearly 20%. Cardano $1 (ADA), XRP, Trump’s memecoin TRUMP coin, and Solana
$170 (SOL) emerged as the top gainers among altcoins, while BNB experienced the least increase among the top ten coins.
Major Gains for ADA, XRP, and SOL
With the market recovering due to Trump’s announcement, the altcoins with a market value exceeding $1 billion that gained the most were ADA, XRP, TRUMP coin, and SOL. According to CoinMarketCap data, these altcoins were the highest rising coins over the past 24 hours. In contrast, BNB was among the least performing cryptocurrencies in the top ten.

The GMUSA index, which consists of U.S.-based cryptocurrencies, recorded a 25% increase. GMUSA, the most rising index among GMCI, indicates that Trump’s policies positively reflect on U.S.-based cryptocurrencies.
Bitcoin Maximalists Criticize Reserve Decision
President Trump announced that Bitcoin (BTC) $92,979, Ethereum (ETH)
$2,451, Solana, Cardano, and XRP would be included in the newly established “Crypto Currency Strategic Reserve.” However, some voices expressed their discontent regarding the inclusion of assets other than Bitcoin in the reserve.
Bitcoin maximalists and some tech leaders argued that this move presents unnecessary risks, stating that the focus should remain on Bitcoin. AngelList founder Naval Ravikant commented, “U.S. taxpayers should not have assets claiming to be decentralized but still rely on lobbyists for exit liquidity.”
Another prominent figure in the debate, Aave founder Stani Kulechov, stated, “Creating a strategic crypto reserve is a good idea, but excluding decentralized finance (DeFi) projects from the list is a major flaw.”
Peter Schiff asserted that the reserve should be entirely focused on Bitcoin, asking, “If we have a gold reserve, why do we need an XRP reserve?”
