The Terra Luna Classic (LUNC) community has introduced a proposal to compensate developer “Frag” for performing thorough audits of Proposals 12165 and 12166.
Proposal 12165 aims to implement a SubDAO framework designed to improve decentralization and governance by allowing independent decision-making within smaller sub-entities. Proposal 12166 is to introduce a vesting mechanism for the purpose of having better control over fund distribution and realizing long-term stable ecosystems.
The audits were conducted to ensure that both proposals are secure, functional, and aligned with Terra Luna Classic’s strategic goals.
The proposal for compensation, Proposal 12280, seeks to award 1,420 EUR (in LUNC) to Frag for the time and effort invested in these important audits. The proposed funding is to be sourced from the Terra Luna Classic community pool.
Juris Lunc Validator, the sponsor of the proposal, believes that compensating developers for technical contributions is key to maintaining long-term trust and functionality within the ecosystem.
Community Divided Over Developer Compensation Proposal
The proposal has garnered mixed responses within the LUNC community. Supporters believe that rewarding developers for essential contributions will incentivize further participation and strengthen the ecosystem.
They regard Frag’s work as having played a key role in ensuring the success of the SubDAO and vesting proposals, which they regard as essential to Terra Luna Classic’s comeback and future progress following the ruin of Terra’s original ecosystem in May 2022.
However, some community members and validators have voiced concerns about the SubDAO system’s potential to centralize decision-making, which could contradict Terra Luna Classic’s core principle of decentralization.
Despite these problems, the majority of stakeholders agree that developers must be reasonably compensated in an effort to encourage and retain talent within the ecosystem.
The proposal reflects a wider shift within the Terra Luna Classic ecosystem toward more structured governance and financial accountability. A successful approval of Proposal 12280 would set a precedent for future governance improvement and developer compensation within the Terra Luna Classic network.
Voting on the proposal is currently underway, and early signs are that it has strong backing from key stakeholders. The outcome will decide the direction in which the Terra Luna Classic community deals with developer contributions and governance in the future.
