Bitcoin Sees Brief Dip Following Global Market Momentum

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has issued a bullish long-term prediction on the crypto industry, predicting a “massive” trillion-dollar market expansion as Ripple positions itself to grow its presence in the United States.

The statement follows a volatile week in crypto markets, with both Bitcoin (BTC) and XRP experiencing price corrections.

The world’s largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, Bitcoin, is currently trading at around $85,000 after correcting slightly from an intraday high of $87,000. The 2% decline over the last 24 hours is a part of overall macroeconomic uncertainty and also investors being cautious.

Bitcoin has still maintained strong momentum since the beginning of 2025 due to institutional demand, increasing ETF inflows, and increasing adoption in global finance markets.

Analysts describe the recent drop as a short-term correction rather than a bear reversal. With the upcoming Bitcoin halving and current regulatory news in the United States, many believe that the future of Bitcoin remains bright, with projections for reaching the $100,000 mark by year-end remaining intact, assuming stable macroeconomic conditions.

XRP Declines from Weekly Highs Despite Regulatory Clarity

XRP has also seen price pressure, falling to around $2.21 after reaching a weekly high of $2.60. The 7% decline over the past week comes following general market volatility, though sentiment around Ripple’s legal positioning continues to improve.

Garlinghouse’s trillion-dollar prediction aligns with Ripple’s renewed U.S. expansion strategy, following legal victories against the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). With more clarity on XRP’s regulatory status, Ripple is now planning to diversify its services and further develop relationships with U.S.-based banks and other financial institutions.

“The tokenization of real-world assets, cross-border payments, and decentralized finance will all contribute to crypto becoming a multi-trillion-dollar industry,” Garlinghouse said in a recent interview.

XRP remains below its all-time high of $3.84 set in 2018, but bullish projections suggest the token could reach $5–$10 by the end of 2025, as current momentum and regulator familiarity with cryptocurrencies continue to dominate.
