  • The Terra Luna Classic (LUNC) community is considering a proposal to compensate developer Frag for unpaid audit work.
  • The requested amount is 1,420 EUR in LUNC, addressing fairness and transparency issues.

The Terra Luna Classic (LUNC) community is preparing to vote on a proposal aimed at compensating a key developer, Frag, for his work on two recent proposals, 12165 and 12166.

The proposal by Juris Lunc Validator aims to make up for a gap in which Frag’s work was not paid for due to lack of communication.

Proposal 12165 introduced a SubDAO system, and Proposal 12166 introduced a vesting mechanism for payment. Frag was heavily involved in development and was instrumental in auditing and smart contract development to ensure that these proposals met requirements for structure and security.

Initially, it was believed that his work would be part of the funding application. This was not done and left the developer without compensation.

The proposal seeks to cover this by fairly compensating for the work done. The amount requested is a total of 1,420 EUR, which consists of 900 EUR for work done on audits and 520 EUR for smart contract development worth eight hours of work.

The payment will be made in LUNC based on the exchange rate on the approval date of this proposal.

The Impact of Unpaid Contributions on LUNC’s Future

Fairness and transparency are crucial in any decentralized society. Not compensating Frag not only feels unfair but can also discourage others from contributing in the future.

Developers are also important to ensure that proposals for governance function as intended, and without getting paid for what they do, there are fewer skilled individuals who would be interested in contributing to the ecosystem of LUNC.

The proposal emphasizes that this is not about blame but about maintaining integrity in government. Trust in society depends on open and transparent communication, particularly about paying those who help make the network more resilient.

If those who contribute are to be rewarded for what they do and are subsequently left out, it undermines trust in the system.

In supporting this proposal, the community of LUNC would be sending a clear message that equality matters. It would ensure that decision-making is transparent and that stakeholders are respected.

Failing to address this issue could set a precedent where contributors hesitate to offer their expertise, fearing they may not be compensated.

Community Debates Proposal for Contributor Payment

The proposal has been debated by the Terra Luna Classic community, with some of them expressing tremendous support. One of the strongest reactions was that of a well-known community member by the name of Vegas.  He did not hesitate to express his stand and made it clear that Frag should be rewarded for his work.

Vegas dispelled any speculation that this proposal was part of a clandestine agenda and addressed fears that others would make a controversy out of this.

It was made clear that he has no financial stake in Frag and is not benefitting in any way from this offer. He asserted categorically that writers should not have to fight for payment for work that they have already done.

He also touched on how conspiracy theories might emerge and reiterated that there is no behind-the-scenes arrangement or secret agreement behind this proposal for funding.

He promised that this proposal is merely to right a wrong and ensure that Frag is accorded what is rightfully his. His bluntness was intended to dispel rumors and keep all eyes on what is really important, and that is justice.

If it passes, Frag will receive what was agreed on in LUNC, and this case will serve as proof of decentralized decision-making and respect for just compensation. If it fails to pass, there will be questions about whether or not the community values its contributors and whether it can occur again in the future.

But this decision will not only affect Frag but also establish a precedent for how compensation disputes are dealt with by Terra Luna Classic.
