- Trump Bitcoin Digital Trading Cards launched via the Bitcoin Ordinals protocol, using Alpha sats for added exclusivity.
- Secondary listings of Trump-inspired Ordinals range from 0.25 BTC to 9.8 BTC on Magic Eden.
- Previous Trump NFT editions recorded a 151% sales increase, reflecting growing interest in Trump-themed digital assets.
A new NFT collection featuring President-elect Donald Trump has launched its initial batch of 160 items, called the Trump Bitcoin Digital Trading Cards. These NFTs are built on the Bitcoin blockchain using the Ordinals protocol, making them a notable addition to the digital asset ecosystem.
Claim Period Open for Mugshot Edition NFTs
The collection’s Mugshot Edition includes 100 NFT cards, and eligible users who submitted their Bitcoin wallets can claim these through the NFT marketplace Magic Eden.
As of the latest update, users had minted 19 of the 119 available Ordinals, with the claim period set to close on January 31. The Trump Bitcoin Digital Trading Cards use Alpha sats, which are the first satoshis from a Bitcoin block, adding a layer of exclusivity to the collection.
Several of the Trump-themed Ordinals have already appeared on Magic Eden, with six items listed for resale. Prices range from 0.25 BTC for the lowest-priced item to 9.8 BTC for the most expensive in the collection.
The launch comes as the Ordinals market experiences a resurgence. According to Dune Analytics data, monthly inscriptions averaged between 54,000 and 92,000 in December, a significant rise compared to earlier in the year when activity had cooled.
Trump’s NFT History
This is the first time an Ordinals collection has been tied to Trump, but it’s not his first venture into NFTs. Over the years, he has launched several collections, including the “Trump Digital Trading Cards” series.
In August 2024, the America First edition introduced benefits like gold-themed sneakers and exclusive dinners with Trump. However, trading activity for items in that collection remains inactive. Recent data shows the first Trump-themed NFT edition recorded 2,180 sales over the past 90 days, a 71.1% increase. Meanwhile, the second edition saw a 151% rise in sales, totaling 4,579 transactions. Volume for the first edition fell by 2.35%, reaching $330,774, while the second edition’s volume increased by 30%, totaling $147,605 in the same period.
