Chris Larsen, the co-founder of Ripple, has made headlines again by donating a substantial $10 million in XRP to Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign. This marks his second significant contribution in a short span, following a previous donation of $1 million earlier this month.

Larsen is optimistic that Harris will champion technological innovation and advocate for crypto-friendly policies within the Democratic Party, especially as many in the tech sector seem to favor Donald Trump.

Larsen has voiced his belief that the Democratic Party needs to adopt a more progressive approach to technology and cryptocurrency. He stated, “It’s time for the Democrats to embrace a more forward-thinking stance on technology. I believe Kamala Harris will help the U.S. lead in global tech, and that’s why I’m contributing $10 million to her campaign.”

Despite Ripple’s ongoing legal challenges with the SEC, which have escalated under the current Democratic administration, Larsen continues to support the party. Ripple is currently engaged in a lengthy legal battle and has recently filed a cross-appeal for more clarity in its case.

Ripple’s CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, has shown solidarity with Larsen’s contributions and emphasized the company’s commitment to collaborating with both political parties to advocate for more favorable regulations for cryptocurrency.

In addition to his personal donations, Ripple has been politically active, contributing $50 million to Fairshake, a super PAC that supports pro-crypto candidates from both major parties, including notable figures like Bernie Moreno and Patrick McHenry.
