Seamless Digital-to-Cash Transactions
The new feature enhances the flexibility for LibertyX customers. Instead of waiting for ACH transfers or dealing with wire transfer complexities, users can convert their Bitcoin into physical cash quickly.
This process begins with users staging their transactions via the LibertyX mobile app. The app’s locator function helps them find nearby ReadyCode-enabled ATMs where they can complete their transaction.
Atleos has developed the ReadyCode API as a one-time-use code system to support various cash transactions. ATMs, point-of-sale systems, and kiosks can all be easily integrated with this embedded finance technology. As such, it provides a simplified resolution for both customers and retailers.
Bridging the Gap Between Digital and Physical Cash
Stuart Mackinnon, COO of Atleos, highlighted that the new feature bridges digital assets and physical cash. “Adding an offramp for LibertyX users to convert digital assets to physical cash enhances the value proposition of LibertyX,” Mackinnon noted. “It grows foot traffic at participating merchants and increases ATM productivity.”
Moreover, the LibertyX Bitcoin Cashout feature addresses a critical barrier to Bitcoin adoption. Until now, converting Bitcoin to cash involved delays and complex procedures. With this new feature, LibertyX users can pre-stage transactions through their app and pick up their cash at a convenient location. This approach simplifies the process and provides a more user-friendly experience.
LibertyX General Manager Chris Yim emphasized the importance of this development. “One of the remaining barriers to greater Bitcoin adoption by consumers has been the ability to move easily and effortlessly from Bitcoin to cash,” Yim said. “With LibertyX Bitcoin Cashout, users can convert digital to physical transactions on their schedule.”
