AMD reportedly wins over Sony Playstation 6 chip Contract



Intel no longer holds a contract with Sony PS6 chip, reports say. The competitor AMD has won over the bid for the contract. Intel failed to deliver the PS6 chip design in the bidding process. According to the source, the estimated contract revenue is up to $30 billion. 

According to three sources that shared the knowledge of events with Reuters, Intel has lost a deal of massive billion dollars potential. Intel was competing with AMD for the manufacturing of the Sony PlayStation 6 chip in 2022.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co was also part of the bidding process. The finalists of this process were Intel and AMD. The deal ended up in the hands of AMD, which has also custom-designed the chip for PS5.
