Changpeng Zhao, the former CEO of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance, was seen for the first time since his release at Binance Blockchain Week in Dubai.
CZ, who was recently released, said in his X post last week that he would come to Dubai and attend the conference.
Speaking for the first time since his release, CZ said his prison experience was not a good one.
Stating that he had plenty of time to think, CZ said that what he missed most while in prison was establishing relationships with people.
Stating that the punishment and bad days are now behind us, CZ said that the guards asked him which altcoin we should buy.
CZ said he is focusing on two things from now on: education and investment.
He added that he left Binance due to a public settlement with the US government, but there was no agreement that permanently banned him from working at Binance.
“There is no agreement that permanently and indefinitely bars me from working at Binance. However, I have no intention of returning to the CEO role.
I will definitely continue to invest in crypto.
My next areas of interest will be blockchain, artificial intelligence, and biotechnology.
Some guards were asking me which altcoin he should buy.
“But I said I couldn’t answer those questions because there was no internet in the prison. Some guards can be a little rough, but there was no conflict, no harassment, no physical confrontation inside.”
Finally, CZ explained his general expectations for the crypto market, predicting that 2024 will be the year of recovery and that 2025 will be the year when the industry will grow in general, although it is not certain.
