Elon Musk’s AI company, xAI, is developing image generation capabilities for its chatbot Grok, according to sources familiar with the code. Additionally, xAI is exploring the integration of web search results to enhance search functionalities for Grok users on X and potentially other products.


Elon Musk’s xAI Expanding Grok’s Capabilities

Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company, xAI, is enhancing its chatbot Grok by integrating advanced AI features. According to reports from X Daily News on June 8, xAI is developing image generation capabilities for Grok. Additionally, the company is working on leveraging web search results to provide more comprehensive and accurate information to users through Grok, which currently retrieves data from X (formerly Twitter).

Experts suggest that the rollout of Grok 1.5 to all users may be imminent. Mario Nawfal, known for hosting large spaces on X, mentioned that insights from the source code indicate Grok’s capabilities could surpass those of Google Gemini.

Toby Pohlen, a founding member of xAI, confirmed that Grok 1.5 is undergoing testing with select partners. He highlighted ongoing experiments with image support in the conversational interface, promising users a significantly improved experience. However, Pohlen did not disclose a specific release date, encouraging users to anticipate new features patiently.

Expanding AI Capabilities in Industry

Following Nvidia and OpenAI’s advancements in AI-powered image generation, many companies are now capitalizing on and enhancing AI technologies. OpenAI’s DALL-E, known for its image generation capabilities, has been upgraded with new features, including tools to identify AI-generated images.
