Ferrari just announced the launch of its new supercar, the F80, a V6-hybrid powertrain derived from racing and more powerful than any other road car.
In their official announcement, Ferrari says the F80 is destined to join the iconic models from the 1984 GTO to the 2016 LaFerrari Aperta.
Ferrari F80 Showcases the Ultimate Tech and Performance
The new supercar is a showcase for the brand’s ultimate technology and performance, representing an “extreme development” of the internal combustion engine.
The F80 comes with a combined maximum power of 1200hp, and the V6-hybrid powertrain of the F80 makes it the most powerful road car ever made by Ferrari, as highlighted by the team in their official launch notes.
Ever since 1984, the brand has periodically released a new supercar representing the peak of cutting-edge tech and innovation of its era, and now they write history with the new F80.
The key feature of the new supercar is its internal combustion engine V6 F163CF, producing a peak power of 900 hp, the highest power of all time. With the F80, Ferrari created a track-oriented supercar that’s as drivable as a production range model.
According to the official announcement, the F80 will be produced in a limited run of 799 cars.
Car enthusiasts can buy it with Bitcoin and crypto in the US and Europe as well.
Ferrari Extended Crypto Payments in Europe
At the end of July, Ferrari released an official note, revealing that it’s extending its crypto payment system to the network of European users.
The brand’s crypto payments reach the European market following a successful launch of this alternative payment method in the US less than a year ago.
By expanding its payment options, Ferrari caters to the diversifying needs of the international network of clients.
According to an official press release dated July 24, the brand said that by the end of the year, it will expand crypto transactions to other countries where crypto payments are legally accepted.
Ensuring Transaction Security With Crypto
Ferrari uses the expertise of various crypto payment companies to secure transaction security.
The new payment solutions facilitate dealers to accept payments without having to manage crypto directly, as digital assets are converted immediately into traditional currencies.
The providers’ solutions make it possible to verify the source of funds and protect transactions from price fluctuations common to exchange rates.
As noted by a July Reuters article, although most blue-chip companies have steered clear of crypto due to volatility, Ferrari started accepting Bitcoin and digital assets in 2023 in the US to cater to the needs of its wealthy customers.
For the launch of the crypto payment options in the US, Ferrari reportedly turned to one of the biggest crypto payment processors – BitPay – and allowed transactions in Bitcoin, ETH, and USDC.
Ferrari’s moves to allow digital asset payments come in support of the broader efforts to boost global crypto adoption and just in time to celebrate Bitcoin’s Uptober rally.
