They teamed up with Whakamāori, a Māori software translation company, to translate over 15,000 words of content. This move aligns with Easy Crypto’s mission of “Crypto for Humans,” simplifying the crypto experience for everyone and promoting inclusivity.

Janine Grainger, Easy Crypto’s Co-Founder and CEO, emphasizes their commitment to respecting te ao Māori and celebrating New Zealand’s culture. About 10% of New Zealanders already own crypto assets, and this number is steadily increasing as people value economic self-sovereignty.

Easy Crypto aims to include all segments of the population, especially the 17% with Māori heritage, by offering a te reo Māori version of their website, making crypto accessible to more Kiwis.

Making te reo Māori a Part of Everyday Life in New Zealand for Everyone

Whakamāori is a company started by a certified te reo Māori translator and a software developer. Their goal is to make te reo Māori a normal and everyday part of life in New Zealand (Aotearoa). They have a unique way of translating websites from English to te reo Māori, and they call it a “full service” approach.

This approach helps companies quickly and easily translate their websites into te reo Māori. The word “Whakamāori” literally means “translate to Māori,” but it also means to make something feel natural and accessible.

Whakamāori is excited to partner with Easy Crypto, which is not only the top cryptocurrency platform in New Zealand but also serves a very diverse group of customers. They have more women, minorities, people from non-urban areas, and older customers compared to other companies in the cryptocurrency industry.

This collaboration is especially important in New Zealand because translating into te reo Māori is not just a service but a cultural necessity. As businesses expand globally, there is a strong demand from consumers for making products and services feel local and personalized.

Making Cryptocurrency Accessible to Everyone

Janine recently received the ‘IBM Most Inspiring Individual’ award at the 2023 Hi-tech awards. One of the reasons she received this recognition is her efforts to create a safe and user-friendly crypto environment for people. Easy Crypto, founded in 2018, has conducted transactions worth over NZD$2.2 billion. They have offices in New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa. The Easy Crypto team is well-known for their outstanding customer support, educational efforts, and transparency, earning them a high rating of 4.7 on Trustpilot.

On September 11th, the te reo Māori version of the Easy Crypto website will be available. Users can easily switch to te reo Māori content with a simple click of a button, making it more accessible to everyone.
