Cryptocurrencies have become increasingly popular in recent years, sparking interest and actions from major players in the finance and banking industry.
One such example is Garanti BBVA, one of Turkey’s leading banks. They have taken a significant step by launching “Garanti BBVA Crypto,” a new crypto wallet and transfer service.
Garanti BBVA’s Anticipated Move Towards Crypto
Towards the end of last year, Garanti BBVA had advertised a job listing on LinkedIn for a “Digital Asset Liquidity Management Project Manager / Product Owner.” This indicated their active interest in digital asset management.
It wasn’t the bank’s first job listing related to cryptocurrencies and digital assets, as they had previously posted a listing for a “Crypto Asset Officer/Expert” position.
These job postings sparked speculation about the bank’s potential entry into cryptocurrencies and digital assets, but concrete details on their plans were not available at that time.
Garanti BBVA Crypto Currently Available Only to Bank Employees
According to sources from Webrazzi, Garanti BBVA introduced its new service called “Garanti BBVA Crypto,” providing crypto wallet and transfer services, exclusively to its employees initially. As of now, it is uncertain when this service will be available to regular customers, as it remains accessible only to bank employees.
Although the current phase of the service does not include cryptocurrency trading, the bank plans to add it in the future. This move clearly indicates Garanti BBVA’s strong interest in cryptocurrencies and digital assets. Their frequent job postings in this area further show their commitment to grow and expand in this field.
