Hamster Kombat, one of the fastest-growing games in the Web3 space, has announced a massive token airdrop for its first season. However, only 43% of the game’s players are eligible for the airdrop, leaving many surprised by the results. Out of 300 million users who signed up for the popular Telegram-based clicker game, just 131 million players will receive a portion of the 60 billion tokens being distributed.

Why Only 43% Qualified?

With such a large player base, many expected more users to benefit from the airdrop. However, the developers revealed that stringent requirements led to only 43% of the player base qualifying. Of the 60 billion Hamster Kombat (HMSTR) tokens being distributed, 88.75% will be airdropped immediately to eligible users, while the remaining 11.25% will be vested and available 10 months after the token is listed on exchanges. This means around 53.25 billion tokens will be sent out immediately, and 6.75 billion will be held back for later release.

Adding to the surprise, 2.3 million users were blacklisted for cheating, significantly reducing the number of players eligible for the airdrop. According to reports, the developers took swift action to ensure the integrity of the game and the fairness of the token distribution, making sure that only legitimate players would benefit.

The Growing Web3 Giant

Despite its airdrop scandal, Hamster Kombat remains a Web3 gaming powerhouse with millions of players. Telegram’s clicker game gained 239 million users in 81 days, making it one of the fastest-growing crypto games. Telegram’s founder, Pavel Durov, lauded the game’s potential to attract millions of new cryptocurrency users. Games like Hamster Kombat might drive Web3 adoption by presenting digital assets to general users, according to Durov.

What’s Next for Hamster Kombat?

With the airdrop set for September 26, all eyes are on how the token launch will impact the game’s ecosystem. As players gear up for the airdrop, the excitement continues to grow. However, the fact that less than half of the player base qualified for the airdrop adds an unexpected twist to the story.

While many players eagerly await their tokens, the question remains: will Hamster Kombat’s next season bring even more growth and excitement to the Web3 world?
