HashKey Group, a prominent Asian digital asset services provider, has announced a significant partnership with Kaia, previously known as Klaytn. This is significant for the expansion of Web3 technology across Asia and the global market.
The merger, approved on February 15, 2024, aims to establish Asia’s largest Web3 governance platform. This collaboration, officially unveiled on August 29, 2024, coincides with the recent merger of Kaia and Finschia, a blockchain platform developed by Line Tech Plus, a subsidiary of the Japanese messaging giant Line.
Strategic Implications
The partnership between HashKey and Kaia aims to strengthen digital finance, content creation, and security. Kaia’s Ethereum Virtual Machine-based layer-1 blockchain, founded by Kakao and Line, two leading Asian social messaging platforms, will be integrated. This will create a competitive mainnet ecosystem, with collaboration from partners like Kakao and Line.
HashKey’s Expansion into the TON Ecosystem
This partnership is the latest in a series of strategic moves by HashKey Group, which has been steadily expanding its influence within the Web3 space. Recently, HashKey partnered with Catizen, a gaming bot integrated with Telegram and the TON Blockchain — its first Web3 partnership. This collaboration aimed at developing next-generation GameFi products and global digital entertainment infrastructure, reflecting HashKey’s growing focus on the TON ecosystem.
Catizen, which has experienced explosive growth since its launch, amassing over 29 million global users, was an important milestone for HashKey. The partnership allowed HashKey Global, the licensed exchange under HashKey Group, to offer compliant and reliable digital asset services to Catizen’s user base.

Kaia’s Rebranding and Mainnet Launch
Parallel to the announcement of the partnership with HashKey, Kaia also launched its mainnet on August 29, 2024. The rebranded blockchain introduced applications akin to those found on Telegram for the Line social messaging platform. Alongside the mainnet launch, Kaia unveiled Kaia Wave, a program enabling developers to create mini-decentralized applications that operate on Line, further solidifying its position in the Web3 ecosystem.
The mainnet launch represents a significant milestone for Kaia, as it transitions from its former identity as Klaytn and Finschia to a unified platform that leverages the strengths of both entities. This move is expected to accelerate the adoption of Web3 technologies, particularly in the Asian market, where major tech firms like Kakao and Line are increasingly investing in blockchain innovation.
HashKey’s Role in Web3 Innovation
HashKey Group’s partnership with Kaia builds on its previous successes, particularly its collaboration with the TON Foundation announced in April 2024. The partnership with the TON Foundation focused on enhancing the TON ecosystem’s treasury management capabilities in the Asia-Pacific region and exploring investment opportunities within the ecosystem.
