Trident3 has teamed up with LayerZero to launch the peer-to-peer (P2P) digital identity solution, T3id. This partnership will allow users to quickly and securely verify their identity across more than 70 blockchains connected through LayerZero’s infrastructure.
Steve Goldstein, CEO of Trident3, explained to Crypto Briefing that P2P identity verification ensures that transactions and communications are with verified entities. He added that combining their data solution with LayerZero’s network of 70+ blockchains enhances the benefits of this partnership.
Trident3 and LayerZero Introduce T3id Digital Identity Solution
The T3id is a unique non-fungible token (NFT) that cannot be sold or transferred, linking it to a wallet and making each identity distinct. Users can use the same T3id identity across different blockchains by employing a “lock and mint” model, which involves locking the original NFT in a smart contract and minting a corresponding NFT on another network.
Simon Baksys, Vice President of Business Development at LayerZero Labs, praised the T3id initiative, calling it “a fantastic use case” for enhancing digital identity and mitigating on-chain risks. He emphasized that the collaboration aims to make the T3id token accessible across all ecosystems, allowing users to utilize their digital identity wherever needed.
T3id Enhances Digital Identity with Customizable On-Chain Verification
Goldstein highlighted that the T3id NFT not only addresses security concerns but also enables entities to identify genuine users. NFT holders have the flexibility to choose which information they share on-chain. They can upload various documents for authentication, such as photos, passports, or driver’s licenses, according to their preferences.
T3id aims to provide Web3 users with a seamless on-chain identification process while protecting their privacy by preventing oversharing. Goldstein noted that while some users may prefer to remain anonymous in a decentralized environment, T3id offers transparency and assurance for those who seek to verify identities before conducting transactions. He emphasized that T3id represents a new approach to identity verification, ensuring both security and user choice.
