Judge Amy Jackson has agreed that attorney Andrew Rhys Davies can represent BinanceUS. This comes after the US SEC filed something secretly.

In the ongoing lawsuit between the SEC and Binance, Binance.US, and CEO Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, a judge has said that a new lawyer can work for BinanceUS. At the same time, the SEC wants permission to keep a document hidden. People who know about these things think it might be about accusations of money laundering or other possibly illegal actions.

Binance Hires Skilled Lawyer to Face US SEC

A new document has been submitted in the Binance vs US SEC legal case on August 30. Lawyer Andrew Rhys Davies has officially stated that he’s representing BAM Management US Holdings and BAM Trading Services (which is Binance.US). Judge Amy Berman Jackson agreed to the request by Davies to join the case, even though he’s not usually involved in it.

In an earlier decision, Judge Jackson asked Davies to officially show up in the Binance vs SEC lawsuit.

“MINUTE ORDER: The motion for Andrew Rhys Davies to join the case is approved, but only if the lawyer or someone from the lawyer’s firm gets training to use CM/ECF, gets a username and password, and agrees to file papers online.”

Earlier, Binance.US is asking the court for protection because the SEC went beyond what was agreed upon. Judge Amy Jackson sent this matter to Magistrate Judge Faruqui to solve.

The Confidential Submission by US SEC

At the same time, the SEC is submitting private or secret information during the lawsuit. The organization that watches over financial securities probably wants to make its move stronger against the biggest crypto exchange globally and its US branch. This is because they didn’t follow what was decided before.

A person named John Reed Stark, who used to work for the SEC and dealt with enforcing rules, thinks that the SEC might talk about a criminal investigation or a legal case by the US Department of Justice against Binance. This could also put a person who knows things or a company in danger. But these are just guesses, and the real details will stay secret.
