The US government has moved some of the assets it seized from the Bitfinex hacker, according to Onchain data.
No activity had been observed in the cryptocurrency wallets in question for 8 months.
According to the data, the US government withdrew approximately $20 million worth of stablecoins held by the decentralized cryptocurrency platform Aave from the platform and transferred them to a different cryptocurrency wallet.
Stablecoins include USDC and USDT.
It is noteworthy that all funds moved are transferred to a single crypto wallet address.
As of this writing, the US government has a large amount of cryptocurrency in its possession. The total value of the assets under the control of the authorities, who hold various assets in many different wallets, is around $14.14 billion. $13.77 billion of these are Bitcoin.
Interestingly, the US government also has altcoins in its possession. These altcoins, which were seized in various ways, include $126 million worth of Ethereum, $121 million worth of USDT, $50.77 million worth of WBTC, $23.86 million worth of BNB, $13.18 million worth of BUSD, $10.14 million worth of USDC, $8 million worth of DAI, $2.5 million worth of TRX, $2.40 million worth of UNI, $1.42 million worth of RNDR, $1.26 million worth of BAND, and other less valuable cryptocurrencies.
