According to the latest on-chain data, Tron Network’s gas revenue recorded the most significant surge for August compared to other chains.

Data from Lookonchain reveals that Tron’s gas revenue saw a 46.5% increase last month, totaling $61.43 million in August, compared to $41.92 million in July.

The same on-chain data analyzes trajectories for Ethereum, Solana, Bitcoin, and BSC.

Important Chains Gas Revenue Surges in August

Ethereum recorded $62.61 million in gas revenue for August, representing a 33.44% drop since July when the gas revenue was a little over $94 million.

Solana saw a drop in gas revenue for August of 48.5%, totaling almost $25.7 million for the month, compared to July when the chain recorded almost $50 million in gas revenue.

Bitcoin also recorded a drop of 16.8% in gas revenue for August, totaling $20.7 million, compared to the revenue from the previous month of almost $25 million.

BSC recorded a surge in its gas revenue for August of 6.63%, totaling $11.26 million compared to the revenue from July which was $10.56 million, according to data gathered by Lookonchain from DeFiLlama.

Yesterday, Tron’s Justin Sun addressed the team’s efforts to keep gas fees competitive in the industry.

Tron Network Overview – Competitive Gas Fees

Justin Sun shared a post via his X account on September 2, revealing that there was a large amount of energy released on the Tron Network.

He said that along with the increased energy cap, the overall shortage has been significantly alleviated, and Tron global nodes will monitor energy supply and prices closely, to keep the gas fees competitive in the industry.

According to the latest reports from Dune, Tron Network recorded almost 8,4 billion transactions as of September 2, having over 14.1 million active accounts in the past 30 days.

The total active accounts on the network were over 226.7 million as of yesterday. The daily active addresses on Tron were 3.3 million on August 28, according to Dune data. Tron recorded its peak back in 2022, on December 14, when the network saw over 3.6 million daily active addresses.

Tron’s revenue has been also boosted by the craze around the memecoin generator SunPump which managed to overtake its Solana-based rival PumpFun on August 21 in 24-hour revenue.
