Tencent Cloud is offering a service that can create deepfake videos. It can make a fake video that looks real by studying a three-minute video and 100 voice clips. It takes 24 hours to make the deepfake video.
Tencent Cloud, which is a part of Chinese tech company Tencent, has released a new platform that can create digital humans using a short video clip and 100 voice recordings. This platform also has the ability to produce deepfake videos that look convincing within a day.
Tencent Cloud’s deepfake creation tool is powered by their own artificial intelligence (AI) technology, which can produce fake videos of people by analyzing a three-minute video and 100 voice clips. Deepfakes have been used by scammers to impersonate well-known figures and deceive people. Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, cautioned in 2022 about the increasing use of deepfakes to promote cryptocurrency scams.

According to Jiemian, a local media outlet, Tencent Cloud has a new service that can create convincing deepfake videos within 24 hours. The service uses a three-minute video and 100 voice clips to analyze and train itself to create the fake video. It costs about $145 to use.
According to The Register, Tencent Cloud confirmed the creation of its deepfake service and stated that it can create deepfakes in both Chinese and English languages. The digital human production platform offers five different styles for creating these deepfakes, which include 3D realistic, 3D semi-realistic, 3D cartoon, 2D real person, and 2D cartoon.
Tencent Cloud plans to use the deepfake creation service for live-streamed infomercials aimed at the Chinese market. Additionally, the service could also be used to create digital versions of professionals such as doctors and lawyers.
Some big technology companies in China, such as Huawei and Baidu, are creating their own generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools to compete with ChatGPT, which is currently the leading tool in the market.
