Cryptocurrency researcher ZachXBT reports a large-scale attack on the Alphapo platform.
Alphapo, a prominent payment processor, experienced a hack resulting in a loss of over $23 million in different cryptocurrencies.
Cryptocurrency detective ZachXBT reported the attack on Twitter and has been tracing the stolen funds across various blockchains.
As per ZachXBT, the hackers emptied Alphapo’s hot wallets for Ethereum, Tron, and Bitcoin. Subsequently, they used Ethereum and Tron tokens to purchase more ETH and bridged it to the Avalanche network. Bitcoins were also transferred to a different address.
“Our provider is actively resolving new issues, particularly related to BTC, ETH, and TRX withdrawals, along with ETH and TRX deposits.”
We are closely monitoring the situation and will update you as more information becomes available.
