Elon Musk has said that the Twitter logo will be permanently changed this time. The billionaire made the announcement on Twitter, where he said that the new logo would be “more representative of the company’s values.”
Musk explained the change, saying, “And soon we will say goodbye to the Twitter brand and slowly all the birds.” Additionally, he stated in a post that if a suitable X logo is released tonight, it will be broadcast worldwide tomorrow.
Musk later posted a flashing “X” image and confirmed that the Twitter logo would change in the Twitter Spaces chat, expressing that it should have been done earlier. The video shared by Musk hints at the new potential Twitter logo, resembling an “X.”
Since Musk’s acquisition of Twitter in October, the company has undergone a turbulent tenure, rebranding as X Corp in alignment with his ambition to create a “super app” akin to China’s WeChat.
In April, the Twitter bird was temporarily replaced by Dogecoin’s Shiba Inu dog, leading to a surge in the memecoin’s market value.
Earlier this month, when Musk announced that Twitter would restrict the number of tweets various accounts can read per day, the company faced significant backlash from users and marketing professionals.
Musk sought logo suggestions, and Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao contributed by creating an “X” for the Twitter logo, derived from a section of the Binance logo.
I'll tell you where this come from if it is used. 😂 pic.twitter.com/6am5uNS81Y
