Amazon, the world’s largest provider of cloud services, is expanding its Web3 infrastructure with the introduction of AMB Access and Query services.
These services are part of Amazon Managed Blockchain (AMB), a fully managed solution that allows developers to build applications faster using blockchain technology.
The announcement was made during the AWS Web3/Blockchain Summit in New York City.
Since its launch in 2019, Amazon has been progressively delving deeper into the Web3 space. Earlier this year, the tech giant posted job listings seeking Web3 staff, indicating its increasing focus on the blockchain and cryptocurrency ecosystem.
Amazon Managed Blockchain (AMB) is expanding its offerings with two new services: AMB Access and AMB Query. With AMB Access, developers can interact with digital assets and applications across various blockchains using standard remote procedure calls, without the need for specialized infrastructure. Initially, the service will support the Bitcoin network.
On the other hand, AMB Query allows developers to access blockchain data from multiple chains, starting with Bitcoin and Ethereum, through application programming interfaces (APIs). The pricing for these services follows a pay-as-you-go model.
Amazon highlights potential use cases for these services, including custodial and wallet crypto applications, as well as Web3 consumer engagement campaigns that involve non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Saman Michael Far, Vice President of Financial Services Technology at AWS, emphasized that these new services provide easy access to blockchain networks and data, enabling developers to create their Web3 applications seamlessly.
