Tech mogul Elon Musk recently took to Twitter with an ironic remark about the media’s frequent predictions of his companies’ downfall. Musk joked that if he had a dollar for every time his companies were reported to be on the brink of collapse, he “would never need to raise money.”

In response to Musk’s tweet, Gabor Gurbacs drew a parallel between Musk’s companies and Bitcoin. He referenced a website that tracks the number of times mainstream media has declared Bitcoin dead, currently tallying 475 obituaries. Gurbacs suggested Musk create a similar tracker online, publicly accessible and free of charge.
Elon Musk Contemplates Dogecoin-Powered University
Earlier this week, Tesla CEO and X platform owner Elon Musk turned to crypto Twitter for feedback on a project he floated a few years ago: the idea of establishing a university of technology and science in Texas, with tuition fees payable in Dogecoin.
The discussion began when Musk liked his own tweet from 2021 regarding the concept on Sunday. Following up on Monday, he asked the crypto community whether he should proceed with creating the Texas Institute of Technology & Science.
In response, the cryptocurrency community expressed enthusiasm, recalling Musk’s previous mention of tuition payments in Dogecoin. DOGE co-founder Billy Markus, known as “Shibetoshi Nakamoto” on Twitter and a close acquaintance of Musk, also tweeted his support for the innovative venture.
Musk has prior experience in educational initiatives, having founded his own school in the early 2010s. The Astra Nova School, situated on the SpaceX campus in California, was established by Musk due to his dissatisfaction with the curriculum and teaching methods at his children’s previous school.
