Ripple Labs and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) are heading towards a summary judgment in their ongoing legal battle. In a significant setback for Ripple, one of their lawyers has requested to step down from the case.
According to court documents, Attorney Kylie Chiseul Kim has submitted a letter to withdraw as counsel for Ripple Labs. The letter mentioned that other law firms, Kellogg, Hansen, Todd, Figel & Frederick, P.L.L.C., and Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, will remain as counsel for the defendants. The court has approved the motion to withdraw.

This development coincides with the crypto industry’s anticipation for the public release of the documents associated with the notable Hinman speech.
