The Joint L1 Task Force, a group of developers working on Terra Classic (LUNC), has announced its roadmap for the second quarter of the year. They plan to upgrade the network in May, which will enable projects and builders to use the Terra Classic chain. This is expected to have a positive impact on the community’s plans for reviving LUNC and USTC. The community hopes to achieve a short-term target of $0.0005 and a long-term target of $1.

Terra Classic Network To Undergo Major Upgrades

The Joint L1 Task Force developer group recently lost two of its core developers, professor Edward Kim and Tobias “Zaradar” Anderson. This has led to concerns from the community about whether the remaining developer team can effectively manage the responsibilities of Terra Classic and meet the set targets.

LuncBurnArmy, who is the project manager of Joint L1 Task Force, has shared an updated timeline for the Q2 roadmap and goals in a post on Medium on April 29.

The developer team plans to update the mainnet network to version 2.0.0 on May 17. They will propose the upgrade on agora, and the network will be upgraded on time if the proposal is approved by the validators. Currently, only a few validators have agreed to participate in the testnet, but the developer team plans to test the Cosmos SDK upgrade and Tendermint upgrade on the Rebel-2 testnet.

They also plan to assess cross-chain liquidity and upgrade to Cosmwasm 1.1.0 (Parity) in May. The team aims to finish these developments within budget and return any extra funds to the community pool at the end of the quarter.

On May 31, the Cosmwasm 1.1.0 Parity upgrade will take place, which will allow builders and projects from Cosmos and Terra Luna 2.0 to build on the Terra Classic chain once again. This upgrade will add utility to the Terra Classic network.

The developer team expects to finish the work for Q2 with less money than originally planned because one of the senior developers and another member will start working two weeks later than planned.
